Lakkars Fashion: Western wear for young women
For nearly 10 years, Lakkars Fashion has been catering to the women’s western wear segment. The brand, which offers a variety of products, enjoys strong customer recall across the country despite not retailing through EBOs, MBOs, or large format stores. Talking about the brand’s inception and journey so far, Nidhi Roy Partner of Lakkars says, “I deal in women’s western wear since I have been in this field since company established. I have a great sense of understanding and knowledge about this field.”
Western wear options for Winter
The brand is ready with its new collections for winter. The collection includes jackets and scarves, and heavy material and dark-shaded kurtas. “Pakistani Kurtis are in trend. Georgette, embroidery, net, and prints are some of the fabrics in use,” says Roy.
The company makes long and short Kurtis, T-shirts, tops, tunics, leggings, and trousers. The target is women above 18 years of age. The company uses different type of fabrics like Georgette, Lycra, linen, cotton, printed fabrics, and for blazers, the company imports fabric from countries like Korea and Japan.
Banking on strong brand recall
The company does not place its products in EBOs, MBOs, or large format stores and also does not have an online presence at the moment. “My network is strong and the aim is to reach every store and home. I don’t have an online presence but may do so in the next 6-8 months. I expect 25 to 35 percent growth in retail expansion depending upon production and consumer requirement,” explains Roy.
She believes, the market for women’s wear is very huge, as Indo-western culture has grown. Lakkars Fashion products are available across India in places like Gujarat, Delhi, Chandigarh, Raipur, Tamil Nadu, Chennai, Bangalore, and Calcutta.
