
Telangana Pilla Harika – the story behind fame with Dethadi
Back in the day Telangana dialect was neither pictured respectably nor was given fair significance in Telugu flicks. The slang was habitually used either by gangsters or villains. There were just a few people in the industry known for putting in Telangana dialect into their roles.
But then, change was inevitable and people slowly started embracing the dialect. Society’s attitude has changed for good, thanks to Alekhya Harika like Dhethadi, which reinforces that our accent is not all that bad. She started making a web series of the comedy genre. The series received an enormous amount of positive response from the Indian audience and critics.
She led to enrollment in the MPC stream and later a BBA degree in St Ann’s College, Mehdipatnam. She wasn’t regular in attending college, but still, she used to score good marks in exams. After completing studies, she started working for Amazon. She later tried her luck in the field of acting which now gave her a huge success. She started acting for Dhethadi, which became a huge hit and received positive reviews from the people for her acting.
After she acted in her first short film named Viva where she played the role of Sita, she was later offered a web series called Chitra Vichitram with well-known anchor Ravi. “The moment, the director said, ‘Roll Action Camera, I just stood and watched the opposite person. I didn’t know what to do when they said that’, I was petrified when I started the shoot. It was only with the support and encouragement of my mother that I became the star today,” says Harika. Her spunky spirit soon caught the attention of Tamada Media who gave her the opportunity to start her own channel, Dhethadi on YouTube where she amassed.
In Dhethadi she played a lead role, in those videos the characterization just like real life. Dhethadi has been a life changer to her. Harika was made to be on camera as her dream was to become a choreographer, still, she as a passion for dance, and she has a dream to become a choreographer someday.
